A vintage Hermès Kelly bag, valued at £45,000, has gone on sale to help raise funds for charity. Could you be the new owner?
The It Bag that beyond all It Bags – this vintage Hermès Kelly bag needs a new home. It could be yours…if you have a spare £45k that is.
Little is known about the current owner as she wishes to remain anonymous. All we know is that she’s descended from a Caribbean aristocrat and inherited the bag along with a collection of other vintage designer fashion and fine furniture. The other items have all been sold at auction, but the owner has taken to social media to find an owner for the bag.
The bag is so unique that it pre-dates Hermès authenticity stamp. After baffling experts in the UK, the bag was sent to Paris where is was valued and dated to between 1937 and 1953.
Our mysterious seller said: “When my grandfather bought my grandmother the Kelly bag, she looked after it very carefully and cherished it until she gave it to me fifteen years ago. Now I want to find an equally loving home for my family heirloom.”
The current owner has pledged to donate 10% of the sales of the bag to the Syria relief Charity.
