Ethical fashion increases its global strong hold as Moscow hold its first eco fashion week. This latest news proves ethical fashion is not just a trend, or a movement but fast becoming a way of life.

Last month saw the first ever Russian Eco Fashion Week. Held at Moscow State University the week incorporated master classes in sewing, plaiting and beading with green tea tasting and shows by green designers.
The idea of an Eco Fashion Week came about 18 months ago following a eco fashion weekend called Go Green. The event proved very successful and continued the momentum of eco-awareness in Russia.
Russian Beyond the Headlines reported organiser Marina Kokorina as saying: “Our plans are to develop the Russian Eco Fashion Week as a separate brand into an important annual event held by our movement. Now that the week is over, we are planning to stage a whole range of other events – workshops, conferences, mini fashion shows as part of other events – during the year running up to the next Eco Fashion Week.”
The organisers hope the event will create a new community of ethical fashion designers in Russia, and promote and popularise ethical clothing brands with the public.
