Trying to be an ethical consumer can be a minefield. But Used, a new upcycling company, organised a helpful debate on the subject. What did we learn?
On a bright sunny day in North East London a group of fashion lovers got together to talk about how to shop with an easy heart. We were fortunate enough to have some experts on hand, in the guise of War on Want, Traid and Here Today, Here Tomorrow. They shared some great tips and together we even solved the problem of ethical pants.
Although there was a general agreement that it isn’t easy to shop ethically, there are lots of things we can be doing as consumers. And we agreed that although we’ve far from solved the environmental and social problems in the fashion industry, the pressure is on. Change is happening!
A podcast is available of the full debate, including some great tips on how to be an ethical consumer. The podcast will be made available free of charge to all subscribers of the newsletter.
